Process Summary
We initiate the process with the business represented in what you see in the outer ring. This brings us to the Technical Process, which goes through a cycle and returns to the business process to complete and start over again.
We go through the Business => Technical => Business process as many times as needed to get you to your business and technical goals.
Business Process
What gets measured, gets done. We emphasize starting with a solid measurement process in order to assess our progress along this journey. Without it, it can be difficult to assess changes in the performance quality of your website.
One of the primary reasons we start with this is to be able to quantify the value we've brought to the business as part of the re-measurement process.
Technical Process
We have a basic process of Gather .etls => Analyze => Identify Root Cause => Develop Fix => Deploy Fix => Verify. This process happens as a phase of the business process. Coming out of the technical process and as the technical measures start to become more refined, we begin assessing the ROI much closer and determining the point of diminishing returns.
Measurement-First Process
The technical process relies on the business' ability to measure many qualitative measures (abandoned carts, bounce rate, page rank) in order to determine the point of diminishing returns. Without appropriate business measurements in place, the technical process cannot accurately identify the point of diminishing returns.
Breaking out of the business process early because of a lack of qualitative measurements will leave a lot of financially-impacting improvements "on the table" and can ultimately prevent the business from reaching its goals, if not properly set and measured appropriately.
